Almost there!

I hope everyone had a nice holiday break! We are now in the stretch run. It’s going to be a lot of work for the next few weeks, but will be well worth it! Here is the January Schedule: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1dLPOrkygj9pqgtfQlXMmeRKTNCaSHIpyjTEdj06W-do/edit?usp=sharing

We are set to get some snow this Thursday, our first rehearsal back from break. We cannot afford to lose rehearsal, so if rehearsal needs to be cancelled this Thursday (1/4), we will rehearse on Friday (1/5) instead. Keep an eye out for an e-mail!

Some other things:
We have extended the deadline for T-shirt orders to THIS FRIDAY. $9.50 per shirt.
We are still looking for ads for our program! Deadline is 1/15—inquiries can be made to Bernie Campbell.
We will need some volunteers to be ushers for the shows. Keep an eye out for details/sign-up!

Costuming!

Over the next month, we are hoping that it is possible for each of students playing the following obtain these items in your proper size. Most of these items are clothing basics are available at value stores. You can also check TJMaxx, Goodwill, Salvation Army Thrift store, Amazon.com, friends, family, or your own closet! All other costumes will be provided for the show. If you have an exentuating circumstance and will not be able to obtain any of the following, please notify Mrs. Thiele within the next 2 weeks. This is very important.

Please bring in anything you get that’s questionable, or a picture of you in it. If I don’t see it, I assume you are all set.

Ads and Whatnot

We had an initial parent meeting last night, so I thought I’d recap and provide some information for people that couldn’t make it:
  • ·         If you would like to volunteer in some fashion, fill out THIS FORM
  • ·         We paid particular attention to publicity—we are looking for creative and innovative ways to market the show, so if you have any ideas, please share!
  • ·         We are also looking for a parent “point person;” somebody to serve as a liaison to the production team, or to lead some sort of publicity campaign.
  • ·         We also talked about ads and sponsorship—If you know of any  businesses that would like to place an ad HERE IS THE AD FORM; if you or anyone you know would like to be a sponsor, HERE IS THE SPONSORSHIP FORM
  • ·         We are on the lookout for some fancy-looking, tufted Victorian-ish furniture to borrow…if you have anything like that or know someone that could help, e-mail our production designer Jillian Thiele at jillian.thiele@sau57.org
  • ·         Rehearsal  this week: Today is a group rehearsal; Friday is a holiday, but we will have rehearsal from 9-12 for the Von Trapp children, Max, Maria, and Captain. On Saturday, from 1pm-4pm, we will rehearse the Von Trapp children, Maria, and Captain. As always, you can go HERE for our schedule

Costume Measurements Monday!

I will be measuring people on Monday for costumes. If you can help measure (and have skill at this), I could use a little help getting everyone done during rehearsal, perhaps some "elves" could help me out and take down notes as I measure.
If any alumni or parent has specific expertise in this and wants to help, please let me know.

If for some reason, you are not at Monday's rehearsal, I will need to measure you ASAP. Make an appointment to see me to be measured.

This is what we'll be doing:

Thanks!
